What to do while waiting for ChatGPT
When ChatGPT needs a moment to answer, you do not have to stare at a spinner. A short pause can be useful, especially when you can return to the response as soon as it appears.
First, decide whether it is a normal wait
Some questions take more time because they require research, tools, or longer reasoning. If the page is stuck for an unusually long time, check the service status and your connection before treating the pause as a productivity opportunity. LingoWait does not affect response speed.
Use the pause without losing your place
A quick, bounded activity works better than opening another feed or starting a complicated task. You can review what you asked, note one follow-up question, stand up for a moment, or practise a single word or sentence. The important part is being able to stop when the answer arrives.
- Check whether your question includes the context ChatGPT needs.
- Write down a follow-up while the task is fresh.
- Practise a short language exercise instead of switching tabs.
How LingoWait uses the wait
LingoWait is a Chrome extension for ChatGPT on desktop. It shows a small language game near the conversation while ChatGPT is working. You can choose English, Spanish, French, German, or Japanese and adjust the difficulty. When the response is ready, the game pauses and collapses into a small bar so the answer remains visible. Progress is saved on your device.
- Install the extension and choose a language and level.
- Ask ChatGPT a question as usual.
- Answer a short exercise while it works, then read the response.
Keep expectations realistic
A short wait will not turn into a full lesson, and some responses arrive before an exercise can begin. The benefit is the option to practise during waits that already happen. LingoWait does not read the text of your prompts or answers and it does not accelerate ChatGPT.

Ask ChatGPT a question. A short language exercise appears while the response is generated. When the answer is ready, LingoWait shrinks and saves your progress.
